After 45 wonderful years, it’s time to pass on the keysI
Welcome home to this desirable bungalow on a coveted street in Oakmore where neighbors know and greet one another and everyone gathered to help the seller move! There is even a parent volunteer walking school bus to newly renovated Glenview Elementary (check school availability) that starts just across the street.
Along with the keys, they are passing on a legacy that has been lovingly and well maintained. A seamless blend of period details and modern conveniences compliment a long list of improvements. Two seismic retrofit upgrades, all new heating and air conditioning, updates to plumbing, main electrical and custom dual pane Marvin windows installed to match the original wood.
Beautiful natural light filters through picturesque bay front windows that overlook an exquisite blooming rhododendron. A handsome wood burning fireplace has vintage sconces and a built-in hutch in the dining room draws you in.
The eat-in kitchen was remodeled years ago and refreshed for sale with new Oak floors and recessed LED dimer lights. Overhead cabinets were removed to soak in the sunset views. A large breakfast bar, pantry and working Okeefe & Merritt stove were features the owners loved. Adjoining the kitchen is the light-filled breakfast nook that serves as an office and could easily be used as a den to enjoy your morning coffee.
The 1930s sunroom offers peak-a-boo view of the bay and served well as bedroom, playroom and artist studio with access to deck for outdoor dining & barbequing several months of the year. Spacious bedrooms are large enough for two to share and are divided by a newly remodeled bath with large walk-in rain shower and pedestal sink.
The tastefully renovated downstairs with warm terra cotta tile and natural wood finishes was designed as flexible living space and makes a perfect family room, guest room or Au Pair with full bath, stall shower and two large closets. It has interior access to the garage (fit for a very small car), laundry area with sink, storage cabinets and opens out to a lovely landscaped backyard with brick patio, sitting areas, lawn, garden beds and a mature plum tree!
Situated near the heart of Oakmore Village, you’ll love the easy access to Rocky’s Market for Roti Chicken on Monday’s, or in summer, gather with neighbors on Sunday's where local Food Trucks line the parking lot. Stroll to neighborhood creek trails, Lions Pool at Dimond Park, or explore the many staircases for sweeping views of San Francisco.
What makes 1917 Tiffin Road so special is the owners who live here. They raised a family, organized neighborhood events, started driveway flag parties and became the glue that help keep everyone together. They may be leaving behind a beautiful home but their traditions will live on and the neighborhood is a better place because of them.
New memories await. It’s time to come pick up your keys!
